Monitor consults on community service governance indicators and quality governance assurance in transactions

Monitor, regulator of NHS foundation trusts, is consulting on proposed governance indicators for community services together with quality governance assurance in transactions.

Monitor states that community services provision accounts for approx. £10bn of NHS spend and over time community services will represent a significant proportion of the overall activity of foundation trusts.

The proposed metrics and reporting frequencies for community service governance indicators together with the suggested statement that boards will be required to make in respect of quality governance assurance are contained in the consultation document, which can be downloaded here.

The consultation period closes at 5pm on Monday 27 June 2011 and a consultation response form can be downloaded alongside the consultation document on Monitor’s website above.
