What every healthcare board needs to understand about patient safety

A new report from the Good Governance Institute (GGI) sets out the opinion of the Institute and Datix Limited, a commercial provider of incident reporting software, about what healthcare boards need to know about patient safety.

The report provides useful information on the following issues:

– Why boards should focus on patient safety
– The patient safety system in the United Kingdom
– What works to improve safety in healthcare organisations?
– Governing patient safety
– Recommendations and how your organisation stacks up

The report also usefully contains appendices on patient safety campaigns and resources; contractual issues relating to patient safety; and a joint GGI/Datix ‘Patient Maturity Matrix.’
